Horary Astrology is one of the four major branches of astrology which draws up the horoscope of the moment based on the astrologer's time and location upon receipt and understanding of a querent's (client) question.
Put simply, the astrologer draws the astrological chart for the current positions of the planets at their time and place upon clearly understanding what their client wants an answer to.
In my opinion, Horary Astrology is akin to tarot, rune, or bone reading... it is a divinatory practice. But, instead of pulling cards or casting runes or bones, an astrologer casts the chart for/of the moment and, by following a set of astrological rules, attempts to answer their querent's question.
Let me explain a few considerations below and why I said "attempts":
-
Not all questions are answerable by Horary Astrology. In fact, there's a great deal that cannot be addressed by this branch of astrology. To know which reading is most apt for your question, it is best that you get in touch with mefirst so we can discuss which session suits you the best.
-
Horary questions must be those that you have a personal stake on. This means a question you ask to cosmically spy on your friend's love life is a huge waste of our time and your money.
-
A valid Horary question is one that you have contemplated on for some time. Ancient texts advise to have meditated on the question for at least "a day and a night". Personally, though, I just take this as the question must be serious (i.e. not a frivolous question, or something you'd ask just to "test" if astrology, or the astrologer, is accurate).
-
Although it can deliver remarkable outcomes, you must understand that Horary Astrology, much like any other divinatory art, is innately imprecise. No astrologer (or, for that matter, tarot reader, etc.) can ever be 100% accurate 100% of the time regardless of experience. This is why I said "attempts" before.
When you've come to terms with these considerations and you're still interested, the next point of inquiry will be...
What questions can be asked in a Horary Astrology reading?
The first thing that I want to say here is that, much like going for a tarot reading, you should not ask questions you are not ready to hear answers to. As astrologers, our job is to interpret the chart that has been cast for your question. Sometimes the answer is a point blank yes or no. When you receive an unfavorable response, please don't take it out on your practitioner. We are but the humble mouthpiece of the gods.
That said, there are quite a few things you can ask in a Horary consultation:
-
You can ask if something will happen or not.
-
Will I pass my exam?
-
Will I get the promotion?
-
Will I travel next year?
-
Will she ask me out on a date?
-
-
You can ask to help you make a decision between two options but only if one of the choices is the current situation.
-
Do I stay in this house or do I relocate?
-
Will it be better for me to stay at this company or will it be better to take the job offer?
-
-
You can ask about conditions of things.
-
Is Mr. X trustworthy?
-
Will anything untoward happen in my trip?
-
As you can see, there are many questions you can ask in a Horary consultation; the trick is to ask a Yes/No question as these are the questions that are best suited for this reading.
Lastly, avoid asking "Should I" questions because they tend to meddle with your agency. No ethical astrologer (or any sort of reader for that matter) will give you advice that takes away your free will from you. That's my opinion anyway.
What inquiry would you make of the gods today?
